Dear everyone,

Several of you were kind enough to ask me to remind you when my book, Jewels: A Secret History, was published in the US. It is now published! 

It came out last week and contains a chapter about amber, which includes something of the history, the inclusions, a story of the wonderful new amber altar being created in Gdansk, and an expedition to Kaliningrad Oblast to investigate a rumour that the world's largest amber mine was once a gulag. It was.
