Hi Tammi,

The recipe from Fathet A. Cz. Klimusko:

Rinse 50 g of local amber (never use pressed amber) in tepid water, pour it
into a ¾ bottle, cover with neutral spirit (never use denaturated alcohol).
After just 10 days the tincture will be ready. You do not have to strain it
or pour it into another bottle. Just take as much as necessary each time.

He was using Baltic amber here by the way, not sure it will work with the
younger varieties.

There were Russian scientists who recommended following uses:

-Internal in the form of powder and ticture as well as succinic acid and its
salts

-Inhaling the smoke from burning amber

-External in the form of ointments, amber oil, poutices and massage with
amber powder, bathing in amber pebbles etc..

There’s a book out which describe the therapeutic properies named “The Great
Discoveries of the 20th Century” if you wish to read up on it.

I just go for rubbing the tincture, and do feel it helps, it gets the bones
a bit warmer, hope it will help you out as well.

Happy rubbing,

Heyme

I would love to find some tinctures or remedies made from amber. If you can
supply recipes, that would be great. If there are specific products on the
internet market, I'd love to know. As for dissolving amber in 100% alcohol,
I can do that on my own, but it would be great to know if amber can help
arthritis! Where can I find more information on the medicinal values? I
know only what little I've read in the books, but something more substantial
would be great.
