Adam, I've run my own simple tests on the stuff Dale has found, and he has had it tested by folks in Australia as well. Some of this stuff is hard as burmite. As for the 4 million age range, that's yet to be field tested. It could be much older of course. He has found some younger stuff, but he has most definitely found amber. It's a really exciting time for him!!!

Very interesting, and the photos look very nice. I do wonder how the paleontologist quoted in the article can surmise so much (age of the amber, where the deposit is located, etc.) without really checking things out. And if indeed it is 4 million yrs old, is that amber? Here we go with the old debate again!
