I bought these from an online store, ambergifts.info. I asked a lot of questions and am fairly well convinced it is authentic and not heat treated or formed. The necklace chipped off a small piece, which when looked at with a loupe, shows the circular pattern that amber is supposed to have when broken. I haven't done any other tests aside from visual at about 10x magnification. I live in Santa Rosa, CA where I'm sure there is a jeweler that could verify for me. Any suggestions appreciated.

Arlie, I really like that necklace! If that is amber, it's beautiful. But, your photos aren't of a quality that we can judge if it's amber or not, and there is still the issue of being able to hold the piece in your hand, put it under a scope and run the simple tests to evaluate it. Of course it's possible it's amber, but they could also be plastic. If you tell us where you are, perhaps we could recommend someone to eyeball evaluate them for you.

  Tammi
