I recently returned from simojovel chiapas. I was there to get my immigration documents. I now live in chiapas and can easily do guided buying trips or a combination of amber, coast, ruins. I will be guiding between november and june of each year. you can contact me at gosborne at f-m.fm for more info on trips. give me at least a months notice. the new international airport in tuxtla gutierrez will be operational this year. new roads and better service all over the state.
the amber buying was fair with prices holding there own. everyone is searching the rough very closely so the percentage of insects is miniscule. the prices for insects has skyrocketewd to the point where I am selling them cheaper on my website than you can buy them in simojovel. this will change when the locals realize that no one will buy their fossils. I even bought a fake this year, looked good under a 10x lupe but the old binocular microscope cleared up that mistake. I got a nice masto terme that had shed its wings. the local dealers had never seen one before. they find a masto terme about once every two or three years, they always have their wings. I bought an incredible fresh water snail inside the amber, I will post a picture in a week or so.I can answer most questions about simojovel or totolapa, so feel free to ask. glen
