yes adam, booming is a realative term, but for Chiapas it has a lot of activity. If you remember back ten years there was little or no transport at la tijera (or puerto cate ) now when you go by there the place is loaded with combis, taxis y las malas camionetas. I remember Simojovel in 1989 when there were only several taxis in the town. it was easy to get left behind because there were no more taxis leaving that day. now there are taxis leaving for Bochil up until eight p.m. and you can still get transport to Tuxtla Gutierrez. this predates the back road to San Cris. in those days it was a cab ride to the junction of highway 190 and 195. then flag down a bus, good luck. yes I have been to Totolapa five times and now I know some people there but still I am not brave enough to stay the night. you just missed the leechee nuts. they ripened just after you left. glen
