Amber Listserv / Imprint piece

Hi guys,

I came across this piece today. The bottom part looks like it settled on a
coral bed when it was still soft. The top portion is very crazed (the crazes
run 1 to 3mm deep), and unfortunately, the insects (at least 17 bugs, 8 or 9
are massed together) it contains are mostly very close to the surface. This
has prevented me from getting a better view...if I sand away the crazed
portion, I'll also sand away some insects...if I don't sand away the crazes,
I can't see the insects properly. Damned if I do or don't, I guess. Are they
termites?

Andy
