I would have to agree that copal is a poor substance to make jewelry out 
I have only worked amber for three years now and I find it hard to believe that 
 people have so hard of a time knowing which is copal and which is amber 
it seems that every one wants amber but when they find their source is copal
than they want to discus the fine points
but as you say if you don't work the material
I look at it this way would you rather buy an amplifier from a salesman who cant change
a fuse or form a el specialist who builds amplifiers
