Haven't been antwhere, just been too lazy to post. : )
Nope, haven't been to the "mines" in a couple of weeks and haven't had the time to look through what I have found over the past few months. I guess I'll finally get to sit down with my microscope for some long sessions this winter.
You're correct.....the medium that the resin sits in has a part to play in the degree / timing of the polymerization process.

I believe you're absolutely right with regard to the degree of ploymerization. As a wise person once said, 'some amber is copal and some copal is amber'.
One more factor in the polymerization process would be the medium in which the resin is surrounded.
