Amber Listserv / Damselfly in Mexican amber?

Adam,

The eyes put me off this inclusion being a damselfly, they are rather bulbous. Damselfly eyes are smaller and further apart than in your specimen. Furthermore, the tail is only half the length of what a damselflys tail is/should be.
Sorry to be the one to dash your hopes.......

Best regards,
Mark

  Hi folks,

I read recently that there have been only a handful of complete damselflies found in amber. I do not know if this is true, but it looks like I just found another one. However, I am not the greatest identifier of inclusions, so I would welcome feedback on the ID of this creature as well as whether they are truly rare.

  Thanks!

  Adam Spiegel
