Hey guys,

I got this message from a guy who wants someone to join him in an amber dig
in Tennessee. If anyone is interested, please contact him. Might be a great
opportunity. Wish I could but time and funds do not allow.

Hi there. My name is Jason McCoy, and I live in Atwood, Tn. which is in
Carroll Co. I began collecting about 10 years ago(not too seriously, although I
have some nice inclusions). I have been trying to find a lignite deposit in an
area known as coffee bluff in Hardin county, Tn., off and on, for years.I
believe I may have found either the deposit I read about or a similar one, on the
banks of the Tennessee river. Supposedly they contain amber, though not in great
deposits. Since you are not too far away, wanna dig?The time is now, as the
water is down and the only way to get there is to walk the bank(reletively
tough) or rappel(no thanks).I am no authority on geology, amber, etc. but I have
found clay deposits full of coal and the bluff in question has defined layers
the color of coffee grounds which erode down it's face. I plan on going out the
week of Thanksgiving, weather permitting, as I am off work that week.Anyone
interested should call me(I never check e-mail, but will try to for this)at
1-731-662-7350 between 8-10am or 6-9pm(I work 3rd shift).
