The body segmentation looks "bee-ish".  That's a give away that it's not a fly.  Someone call me on this if I'm wrong.

    I assume you're talking about the specimen I called a "bee". Are fruit
flies rare in Baltic amber? I still think with those short, stubby legs and
bib eyes that it looks like a bee.
