hey Andy

tell me about it doing bugs has got to be the most time consuming thing
I did about 200 last year and it almost sent me over the edge
I find if you alter your light and exposure  time and take many photos of the same piece that you can get about 1 good photo for every 20
I would use a fiber optic light so you can do miner light adjustments it is best to have the light above the insect but below the surface of the amber 
to minimize reflection
make sure to let your camera focus and than do the miner adjustment with your microscope
these photos were taken with a cheap digital camera
