Amber Listserv / Amber and the Bible

While I'm in the mood, I may as well get this question off my chest. It's
been on my mind for a few years. Creationists say the earth is about 6000
years old. Evolutionists say it's about 2.5 billion years old.
Question: how does a Christian reconcile amber that has been shown thru
scientific analysis to be millions of years old with the Biblical age of the
earth of around 6000 years? Are we to reject the findings of modern science?

Non-Christians please feel free to toss in your 2 cent's worth too. I'm
keeping a very open mind about this matter and would like to hear from
people of all faiths.
