Amber Listserv / Amber and the Bible

Yup, that "explains" everything. By the way, scientists think the Earth is about 4.5 billion years old, not 2.5 billion.

It really is sad that so many people do not understand even the most basic precepts of science. For example, they think a "theory" means a guess, that each theory is as good as another. They do not comprehend that theories are based on observable phenomena, that theories explain all the observed phenomena until something comes along which doesnt fit the theory, and then it is changed. It is a rigorous process.

Believing the Earth is 6000 years old is not a theory, and neither is intelligent design or creationism. It is an opinion with absolutely no facts to sustain it. Faith is not a fact, faith is a belief, an opinion.

It is a sad state of affairs when so many people in this country are lacking in the most fundamental ability to reason and analyze. Sad.
