Doris> Thank you! I do believe smoky quartz would match quite nicely. I must
try it out. In fact, you jiggled me old brain and got me thinking of using
pieces of cognac amber (with perhaps some gold/silver foil underneath) for
inlays..on a much higher-domed cab. The possibilities are endless, and I'm
excited!

Tammi> Definitely so! Prototypes have to be made in order to fully evaluate
the effect. I'm at the brainstorming stage right now, and a lot of
over-the-top ideas are floating around. Hopefully this'll result in some
top-notch designer jewellery (in due time, of course...gotta learn to walk
before learning how to fly to those heady heights of high-end baubles).

The Edgars> You're absolutely right. Flush-mounting is impossible between
those 2 shapes. Right now I'm thinking of oval crucibles made of silver,
plated with rhodium to hold the apatites. The crucibles would be mounted
into depressions cut into the cab, and the shiny rhodium would reflect some
light, helping to illuminate the facets of the apatites. This'll cause the
cab pendant to have a 'bumpy' look. I'll see what my goldsmith can do for me
towards this end. :-)
