The simularitys are good to see in the ambers would be interesting to find a link?

  I left a very similar specimen with Dr Choy of the Sabah Forest Research Centre!! Has compound eyes, wings. He couldn't identify it, and could only confirm that it was not extant. "It looks like a modern fly, but it isn't.", were his words. Here's hoping that a visiting foreign entomologist can give a positive ID. 
  I'll phone the good doctor next week (my country's shutting down for the Muslim new year) and see if he has any news. Am excited at the prospect of similar extinct insects in Oz and Borneo!!
