Dear The Edgars,
I have thought of making bowls from 10kg chunks and have viewed videos on
how bowls are turned from wood. The technique could be adapted to suit
amber's characteristics but lots of rough will be wasted though. In truth,
I'm very reluctant to chop up any piece of amber and in a perfect world,
each chunk would be de-crusted and sanded along it's natural lines and
polished to show the resin flows to best effect, but that's just me.
