Doug,

    That's an interesting thought. Have you seen dendrites that look like this before? The outer edge of the thing is so rounded, it seems more organic in nature. I would think that something of a mineral nature wouldn't have this property.

  I would agree with you that the irregular pattern indicates that it is not botanical, probably dendritic in origin.
