    I agree that we as a species are not as smart as we think we are. Examination and re-examination are the basis of all scientific endeavors. Keep an open mind.

  I understand your reasoning as to why you believe it is not a leaf. But allow me to point out one thing based on no other idea than  that this is a primative species.  Perhaps there were species around in the time this was alive that did not follow the same patterns as species we are familiar with do now. Alternatively, it could have grown near a source of radioactivity that altered the growth structure. I bring this up because I've been working on challenging assumptions based on what we think we know in a lot of situations. And finding that we don't really know anywhere near as much as we think when the assumptions are removed. Just kicking this around.

    Hi. Is this a leaf? It was found in a piece of Baltic. Something about it just doesn't look right. Perhaps it's the irregular cell structure. Aren't plant cells more uniform? Any guesses or comments are always welcome. Thanks.
