Amber Listserv / large burmite gem

              Dear Folks,

 

                                 Here are pics of a very large piece of
burmite I just refinished. This piece is from Ron Buckley's outstanding
collection. This piece features all that can be considered desirable in a
burmite gem----large size, great red color and transparency. To top it off
it is also a very fine specimen piece. Note the patches of clear resin on
the right side, the rest of the piece is filled with leaf fragments and
insects. There are about 12 "husks", many of which have enough detail to be
of scientific interest. There is also a very rare harvestman and what
appears to be a queen ant or large wasp. All the best !!!!!!!!
