Hi Chris.

I was leaving the response to the more learned members of the group but since that hasn't happened I'll through my .02 your way. I've found David Grimaldi's book Evolution of the Insects to have good details on the larval stages of many insects. I'm sure there must be a similar book on plants. Check out www.amazon.com.
