Museum of Amber in Gdansk, Poland invites to a vernissage of an exhibition
titled "Amber Hunters". Photos and movie by Eryk Popkiewicz, paintings by
Paulina Rinek.
Tuesday, July 1 2008 at 5PM.

As far as I know, Mr. Popkiewicz has been photographing these men in action
for years.
There is a region in far NE Poland where the Baltic sea produces
considerable amounts of amber that is netted by hand much the same way they
did it for hundreds of years.
Similar to what Peder reports from North Sea, but much less dependent on
storms.
