Ron,

    You will want one with the head mounted on a "boom". That way, you can swivel the head away from the base and pick up a few more inches of clearance.

         I know this has come up before. I should have paid attention. I want to buy a microscope suitable for viewing and photographing inclusions. I'm in Mexico and will have to have it brought down. My problem is many of my inclusions are in rather large pieces of amber and will not fit under the viewer. I'm looking for something under $500. Any help would be appreciated. Ron
